LIVE FROM THE RAIL RUNNER: I WANT YOU! ⚡️🚆
I’m heading back to Santa Fe to pick up my car. I left it there yesterday so I could help a customer bring their vehicle into the dealership to get looked at.
Now I’ve got a train ride, my phone, and a little time to talk football with my Zapp League family.
And you KNOW I’ve got something to say. 😂
PRIOR TO THIS WEEKEND’S GAMES, I was talking with friends and fellow Zapp League players and agents about the Giants. I said I didn’t believe they could put together a good season with their quarterback taking so many risks with his body and their running back treating every yard like his life depended on it.
Now Jaxson Dart could be facing season-ending knee surgery.
I love the heart these young athletes play with. But playing hard and playing smart have to go together.
Sometimes you have to leave everything on the field. Other times, you need to slide, step out of bounds, or throw the ball away. We watched Tom Brady do that for years. Give up on a play so you can win the next one.
LIVE TO PLAY ANOTHER DAY.
It’s an overused saying in sports these days, but it’s true: YOUR BEST ABILITY IS AVAILABILITY.
All the talent, toughness, and heart in the world can’t help your team if you’re standing on the sideline. Your team needs you for the whole season.
Every injury isn’t preventable, and I’m not saying this one was. I hope Dart makes a full recovery. But my concern about taking unnecessary hits hasn’t changed.
And with ALL that being said—with everything I believed about this team before the games—I STILL rolled the dice and made the Giants my Longshot. 🤦♂️
Those 7 Zapp Points if they won were calling my name.
Apparently, they need to play smarter… and so do I. 😂
DUH!!!! ⚡️
That’s football. You have your opinions, you make your picks, and then you get to hear about it from everybody who knew better. Or at least CLAIMS they knew better.
And honestly? I love that part.
I love football. I love the competition. I wish I could still strap on the pads and play. Those days are a distant memory, but the competitive fire hasn’t gone anywhere.
I replaced playing the game with PLAYING THE GAME.
That game is ⚡️Zapp League.
Now I get to compete with my son, my family, old friends, and people I’m getting to know through this league. We all have work, responsibilities, and plenty going on. This gives us something fun to share and another reason to stay in touch.
That’s what “More than a game” means to me.
So here I am on the Rail Runner, championship ring on my hand, pointing right at YOU.
I WANT YOU. TO TRY AND BEAT ME.
This week. Head to head. Your picks against mine.
After that Giants pick, I know some of you are thinking, “How hard could it be?” 😂
Come find out.
And bring that friend who always has something to say about football. Let’s see if their picks are as good as their opinions.
ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?
